In honor of our feature film Tracy being screened today in Michigan, I'm debuting my first project after Tracy right now! It's entitled "Call of the Ocean", It's one minute long, and I think it really shows how I've matured as a filmmaker since Tracy.
Be sure to vote after the video if you fine the film funny or if you'd like it to die.
I've been inspired by my friend Steve Purcell's recent blog series "High School Confidential" which feature some of his sweetly naive, yet strangely charming early artwork, to post some of my high school / college films and videos. It's a little embarrassing how technically amateurish some of these projects are, but perhaps slightly more embarrassing, how much more creative some of them are than the projects I'm doing now.
This was the pencil test for my final animation project at the Columbus College of Art and Design. It wouldn't be a college animation project, without someone losing a limb or two.
The Afterworks blog has just begun advertising the new 3rd edition of the comic compilation. The book is made up of stories written and illustrated by some of the top artist working in the animation industry. This is my first year contributing to the project, and I couldn't be more excited to finally be apart of this great book! The 3rd edition comes out sometime early next year, and you can keep up on all things related to Afterworks 3 here.
