Sexy Dan Scanlon

For my birthday Michele got me this great painting by story artist Josh Cooley . It's based on a very disturbing Halloween costume idea Michele had. She was tired of every girl dressing up as a "Sexy Nurse", "Sexy School Girl" and "Sexy Big Bird" that she decided next year she wants to dress up as a "Sexy" version of me.

I wear pretty much the same type of clothes every day: baseball cap, plaid western shirt,brown corduroy pants, and black tennis shoes.

So behold the Freudian nightmare that is, this years run away Halloween costume, "Sexy Dan Scanlon".

Mad Women

Michele entered the Banana Republic Casting Call Contest to get a walk on role on season 5 of the AMC show "Mad Men". She was rejected based on the photo below.

Tracy Screening in L.A.!

Good news, "Tracy" got into the Burbank International Film Festival...

...bad news, I don't know when or where it's screening yet. The festival runs from July 31st to August 7th, but they haven't posted any dates yet.

I'll post the date and venue as soon as I hear!

"Tracy" in Texas!

Our independent comedy "Tracy" will be playing in Houston, Texas at the 1st Annual Houston Comedy Film Festival at 12:00 PM on Saturday December 12th! If you live in the area, please check the film out and let me know what you think!

* Update! Dan Scanlon is nominated for a Best Director award for "Tracy" at the Houston Comedy Festival.

The Call of the Ocean

In honor of our feature film Tracy being screened today in Michigan, I'm debuting my first project after Tracy right now! It's entitled "Call of the Ocean", It's one minute long, and I think it really shows how I've matured as a filmmaker since Tracy.

Tracy's First Film Festival Announced!

It looks like we got into our first film festival! The Detroit Windsor 2nd annual International Film Festival listed their line up today and our film Tracy is included in the documentary section of the program. It's a little strange seeing as Tracy is a fake documentary, but I suppose people will figure that out somewhere near the end. So if you live in the Detroit/Windsor area this is a great opportunity to see our movie as well as some other very interesting looking films. Tracy is screening on June 27th at 9PM at the Wayne State Law School, tickets are about $9. This screening is actually taking place before the Michigan Cast and Crew screening at the Main Art theater, so if you couldn't make that, this is another chance to see the film.

I'll keep you informed as I hear back from more festivals throughout the summer and fall.

Tracy DVD Screeners Delievered!

A few days ago we got a run of 50 DVD screeners of our first feature film TRACY delivered to enter in film festivals, give out for promotion, as well as hand out to a select few members of the cast and crew. We also entered our first film festival, the Chicago International Film Festival. We should find out if we got in on September 30th of this year. Also on July 4th we're having our Michigan cast and crew / friends and family screening at the Main Art Theater in Royal oak. We'll keep you informed if we get into any festivals.

Michele's Birthday in Vegas

This weekend was Michele's Birthday!

We spent it in Vegas with a few good friends. Vegas is great! Well it is at first anyway. Days in Vegas are like crispy creme donuts, the first is great, the second is really good, the third makes you sick.

What I like about Vegas is you can see a 21 year old having the time of their lives next to a 92 years old having the time of their life. It changes with you no matter your age,or interest, and it doesn't ask much of you. Anyway here are some pictures of our Vegas fun!

We spend most of our day drinking by the pool.

The rest of the evening is spend in the bars and casinos, followed up by 4 hours of free cable in the hotel, and it's back in bed by 7:30PM.

TRACY is finally FINISHED!

After a six year pregnancy and a brutal 4 day labor, we just gave birth to a 75 minute movie named Tracy !

Michele made her first short film a few weeks ago while I was out of town. I had no idea she was doing this other than she borrowed my camera and asked me how to use the editing program.

I have to say, I fall a little more in love every time I watch this...

That's right, one half of Caveat Productions turns 41 this Saturday,and the other half turns 14 in June. Happy Birthday Michele Scanlon, you are the patron saint of lady's fun, expensive shoes and creative happiness! I love you, and so does anyone who's ever met you. Come on, you met her on the bus 24 hours ago and you already know what I'm talking about.
